The Case IH Puma X tractor line presented at Agritechnica-2017 is starting entering the markets of Eastern Europe. Principal idea of the new Puma X line is a state-of-the-art, functional and simple tractor at a fair price. This line is designed as an alternative for farmers looking for a tractor that combines high quality and ease of use.
The Puma X line includes 3 models namely 140X, 150X and 165X with 6.7-litre engines with the capacity of 140, 150 and 165 hp., respectively (where the “maximum” reaches 175, 190 and 210 hp.) Paired with the engine a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission, it functions with shifting under load (18F/6R or 19F/6R). The maximum speed of the tractor is 40 km/h. In addition to a simpler gearbox, the tractors received a lightweight rear axle, a basic operator interface with a simple digital display, basic version of the operator’s seat etc. External hydraulic valves are controlled mechanically.
A two-speed PTO of 540/540E/1000 rpm is available in the standard option and a comprehensive lighting kit with four halogen spotlights mounted on the roof. The PTO provides 1000 rpm. As an option, an automatic steering system and an adaptive steering system are available; the latter allows setting various numbers of turns of the steering wheel between the extreme positions depending on the type of operation.
According to the preliminary information, the first copies of the tractors will arrive in Eastern European dealers in early February to March 2018. Given the concept of the tractor, it is possible that the machine will soon appear in Ukraine as well.
